Our Vision

We envision a world in which people who suffer from the disease of addiction or the experience of re-entry have the same access to opportunities and options as others.  We envision a community where the person experiencing marginalization can grow in the ways that they want without being stopped by barriers that previously opposed them.  We envision an ecosystem where agencies, employers, governments, and community members work together for the good of the whole.

About Us

JPR was incorporated in 2019 by a team of leaders in the Peer Recovery Industry. Our Administrative Team consists of clinical, theoretical, and programmatic expertise in education, psychology, social work and workforce development having collectively managed over 35 programs and $36 Million in operational budgets in the past. With over an 80% placement rate, JPR was also interviewed by the US Government Accountability Office for best practices in Peer Recovery nationwide.

Our Service Delivery team has Life Experience, Education and a Track Record of helping hundreds of people gain skills and secure employment. JPR is supported by external financial professionals (Kaplan CFO) that monitor fiscal activities and maintain controls. Our multiple levels of supervision provide the critical eye, insight, and oversight needed to maintain long-term programmatic success and sustainability.

JPR has been working on Recovery and Re-Entry since 2015 when the leadership team began training people to become Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRSs). Since inception, JPR has demonstrated programmatic excellence training 808 people in industry-recognized credentials and through 5 state-level partnerships and 3 agencies that received federal grant funding and used JPR as a training partner.

In 2019, the leadership incorporated the non-profit to actually provide the direct peer support service in Buncombe County, North Carolina. Here, we have two housing facilities (one men’s and one women’s), supply transportation, and provide supportive services to people in transition from jails, institutions, homelessness and in recovery using those with lived experience to help others like them succeed. We are governed by people with lived experience.

Services/Programs

House of Victory

(Sober Living Program)

JPR provides a home-like environment through its sober living program. We have two facilities that provide sober housing to people in transition.  Our facilities provide a home-like environment and a house manager in each home.  Participants are required to work, attend recovery meetings, and maintain sobriety as they work through their plan to establish independence.  Participants may stay for up to one year.  Extensions are available upon request.

If you need transitional housing and are at least 18 years old, willing to commit to 100% drug-free life, please contact us to schedule an interview.

Buncombe County Pathway Home Project

(Starting in Summer 2020)
In partnership with Buncombe County Detention Center and other community agencies working on recovery and re-entry, we will serve people 20-180 days before release and prepare them to re-enter the community through coordinated case management services.

If you are an employer interested in partnering, a family member, or an agency willing to provide support, please contact us.

Iron Sharpens Iron: Community Health Worker Apprenticeship Program

People in Recovery and Re-Entry suffer most. JPR is designing a Community Health Worker Apprenticeship approved by ApprenticeshipNC that prepares people for the Community Healthworker JourneyWorker credential.

Participants earn while they learn and are able to be hired immediately while they gain the portable credentials and skills to do the job. They enter Pandemic Resistant Industries that remain in demand throughout economic shifts.

If you are a person in recovery or re-entering society after incarceration, please contact us to discuss your employment needs and plans.

As a previous resident of the House of Victory, I will be forever grateful for the experience. I also will be grateful for the continued support and guidance of Anita Bacon and J Hackett. I got through victoriously clean.
